Sheet masks have become a huge thing in the beauty industry, especially Korean ones. Because, Korean skincare is having a huge moment right now. But how much have you heard about Japanese sheet masks? They come in well-designed packaging, are effective for most skin types, and you can get them in bulk. But, there are so many you can choose from, and not all of them say what they do in English. It can be hard to pick out the best Japanese sheet masks. But luckily, there are a few Japanese sheet masks you can get through Sephora or Amazon easily.
My criteria for the best Japanese sheet masks include lots of masks for a good value, good packaging, and ones loaded with lots of serum. When you’re working with American sheet masks, it can be hard to find all of these qualities in one mask, which is why I prefer to get my sheet masks from abroad. After trying about a dozen different sheet masks, I compiled a list of what I think are the best Japanese sheet masks below:
Best Japanese Sheet Masks: SK-II
The SK-II Facial Treatment Mask is one of my all-time favorite masks. It works for all skin types, even my incredibly dry skin. And, it takes my skin from looking dull and porous to radiant and glowing overnight. SK-II started perfecting the art of skin care decades ago. Their formula contains amino acids, minerals, organic acids, vitamins, saccharides, and proteins. The main purpose of this mask is to fix dryness, dullness, and uneven skin tone. And, it fulfills those promises. Even though this mask is more expensive than most, it’s still definitely worth it to me. And, you can save over $40 if you buy a pack of 10 instead of just 1.
Best Japanese Sheet Masks: Kose
Kose is one of the most popular sheet masks in Japan. And, you can get 5 masks for only $8. It’s one of the best deals I’ve seen for any sheet mask, including American ones. The masks are saturated in vitamin C. Vitamin C is great for getting rid of dark spots and acne scars. You can also use it for its anti-aging properties. It’s suitable for all skin-types, but especially normal skin. And, it’s super easy to use. You wash your face as you normally would, and then just apply the mask. You can leave it on for 10 minutes, and then remove it and massage the rest of the serum into your face.
Best Japanese Sheet Masks: Pure Smile Cat Mask
This has to be my favorite of the three. It comes in a package that features a picture of an adorable cat, and the mask itself makes you look like a cat. But, not very convincingly. I might have scared my actual cat when I tried this on. For the actual beauty properties of the mask, it contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and more. It’s a great mask if you’re trying to stop your skin from aging. And, it keeps your skin looking fresh and vibrant.
