Skin care products are getting expensive nowadays. It only makes sense you want to start making your own, especially when you can do so for only a few dollars, if that. Exfoliators are a great thing you can make that you can save money on. And, you can formulate them to take care of your own skin needs. The two most important things to remember when making your own DIY Exfoliator Scrub or any other skin care product are to not use lemons or baking soda. Most DIY sites swear by them. Don’t believe them, they’re horrible for your skin.
I made a list of scrubs that are great for most skin types, even sensitive skin. When making your own DIY Exfoliator Scrub, it’s important to use ingredients that are safe for your face. Nothing that will burn it or scratch it. So, take out oatmeal and lemons. Look for ingredients that have lots of antioxidants. So, lots of super foods. You could end up making your own high quality DIY Exfoliator Scrub for the price of a cup of coffee or less. Here are just a few different DIY Exfoliator Scrub formulas you can make from the comfort of your own kitchen:
DIY Exfoliator Scrub: Green Tea Exfoliator
For this DIY Exfoliator Scrub, you only need four ingredients: green tea, sugar, olive oil, and raw honey. Green tea is a super food that’s loaded with antioxidants that can help your skin. To make it, add 1 tablespoon of dried green tea leaves, 1 cup white sugar, ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil, and 2 tablespoons of honey into a bowl and stir. That’s it. This DIY Exfoliator Scrub will last a while as you only need one tablespoon of it for each use. Rub it into your skin gently, leave it on for 30 seconds, and wash it off.
DIY Exfoliator Scrub: Vanilla Rose Sugar Scrub
This is one of the cutest DIY Exfoliator Scrub I’ve ever used, besides the Korean Exfoliators I’ve used and talked about. It smells amazing, and it’s great for healing skin. All you need is 1 cup granulated sugar, ½ cup of sweet almond oil, 10 drops rose essential oil, one vanilla bean, and one teaspoon of Vitamin E Oil. Take the seeds out of the vanilla bean with a knife and mix all the ingredients together. It’s great for anti-aging purposes. In order to use it, you just do the same thing as you did with the green tea exfoliator.
DIY Exfoliator Scrub: Chocolate Sugar Face Scrub
This DIY Exfoliator Scrub is for those days where you can’t get enough chocolate. We have another sweet mask suggestion over here, if you want to try out two. This mask only needs four ingredients: ¼ cup of brown sugar, 1/8 cup of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. To use it, massage it gently on to your skin after you clean it. Keep it there for 10 minutes, and then wash it off normally. Chocolate has a couple benefits for your skin. It can fight against the aging process, and get rid of any dark spots on your skin. And, chocolate just makes you a happier person.
