When it comes to workout recovery, chances are that you want to get through with it quickly. Working out can be a way of life, so if you feel like you’ve been flattened out for days on end, it can be frustrating. And that’s exactly why you ought to do something for yourself diet wise. And for dieting, one thing you can do that will make a tremendous impact and will also taste delicious are workout recovery drinks.  Before we get into our list of the best workout recovery drinks, let’s talk a little bit about the two categories they fall into.

There are two kinds of drinks you can get for workout recovery.

  • Ones you buy that are premade.
  • Ones that you make for yourself.

For recovery drinks that are premade, you can usually find them at your local grocery store. Be sure to look in the refrigerated section next to other smoothie drinks. You’ll be able to tell that you’re looking at the right thing because the amount of protein will be heavily advertised. Work within your price range! You’ll also likely see a variety of flavors, so feel free to pick whatever it is that is going to suit your taste palette.

Best Workout Recovery Drinks -DIY

For ones you make yourself, you obviously have a lot of freedom. As a result, you’re going to want to find ingredients that are protein heavy. Here are some sample drinks you can make (but please don’t because this is a ridiculous list)

The Riptide: Three cut up strawberries, one banana, some vanilla greek yogurt, two cups of whole milk.

The Purple Moo: Some kale, a pomegranate, one banana, protein powder, and olive oil.

The Narcoleptic Spidermonkey: bone broth, protein powder, and one cup of oats.

Three Cheers For Chattanooga: Whey protein, blue berries, vanilla extract, with a dash of cinnamon.

A Ring Around The Rosie: Whole milk, orange juice, whey protein powder.

Jump Jack Flash & His Merry Band Of Llamas: Ground up oats, bananas, and greek yogurt.

Ready Set Dance: pour mango juice over chia seeds, leave overnight, add vanilla protein powder.

The Cat’s Now:  A liquid of your choice, protein powder.

You’ll be able to find the ingredients for these foods all throughout your local grocery stores. You might have to mix and match a bit, but you’ll likely be able to find something that matches your style.

And for those of you who find yourself getting discouraged because you aren’t recovering from your workouts, just know that it’s okay not to push yourself to extremes. That’s how injuries happen and no amount of recovery juice is going to help you with that. So play safe and work hard, because if there’s one thing you should know for sure it’s that the early bird get’s the biscuit.
